Helpful Hints - How To Prevent Roaches
Since roaches can survive on tiny amounts of food, keep living areas free of food scraps. Clean up garbage and empty cat litter regularly. Do not leave pet food out overnight. Fix leaking pipes and faucets. Plug cracks leading to kitchen and bathroom with a caulking material. If serious infestations persist, roaches may be entering from adjacent buildings (apartments) where the problem is not being treated. Treatment of the entire building may be necessary.
Ants
Ants are generally a problem in the kitchen where they are attracted to sweets and starchy food. Extreme conditions such as flooding or dryness can cause ants to relocate their colony inside your home. Colonies can be located by following ant trails. In order to eliminate your ant problem you must destroy the entire colony.

Spiders
Spiders are not insects but are relatives of crustaceans (crabs). They construct messy webs in corners to trap and kill other insects. Spiders are fine in the garden but can be a nuisance in the home. Some people are allergic to spider bites. Remove webs from infested areas and vacuum to remove eggs. Destroy or dispose of the contents of the vacuum bag.
